On February 9th, the Brazil Industries Coalition (BIC), the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and ICC Brasil sent comments to the USTR Special 301 Review. The Special 301 Report assesses the global state of intellectual property rights (IPR) protection and enforcement. The Brazilian private sector presented new progress observed on 9 IPR areas in Brazil, such as efficiency upgrades at the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), dialogue and cooperation with foreign organizations, improved border control and expedited prosecution of applications. The Special 301 public hearing is confirmed for March 8th, 2017.The full document can be accessed here.
